This guide aims to help you to upload your LinkedIn company page after we have produced the text for you.
(If you are not one of our clients, you are most welcome to read the tutorial. You may also wish to think about asking us to write a LinkedIn company page for you.)
Your LinkedIn Company Page In Word Format
We will have sent you a Word file containing the text for your LinkedIn company page. If you wish to change the text you have been sent, make your changes in Word rather than editing once the text has been uploaded to LinkedIn. Word will help you to notice spelling mistakes. You will also be able to change the size of the text, as you edit, to help you to read the material more easily on screen.
Only upload the text to LinkedIn when you are happy that it accurately represents the image you wish to present online. Cut and paste text from the document you have been sent when you are ready to take action.
However, the first thing you need to do is to make sure you are logged in to LinkedIn. This tutorial assumes that you have already created your company page. We will have discussed with you how to do this and how to verify your identity to allow you to proceed to create your page.
Uploading Content To Your Company Page
We have written text for your overview or company “Home” page. We have also written text for your Products/Services Page.
Click on the “Home” tab to begin the uploading process. Then click on the word EDIT not on the arrowhead to the right of the word. (This is very important and it causes people lots of problems, if they do not follow these instructions precisely.)
Remember you can click on the image above to see it more clearly.
You will now be invited to upload your company name and your company description. You will also be asked to nominate administrators for your company page.
Make a point of completing the boxes to the right of the screen and definitely include your website address. You have an opportunity to promote your company here, so don’t miss out.
Then upload your company overview.
Also remember to upload your logo and note your company’s specialities. We will have included a list of terms for you to upload. (You will need to scroll down the page to see some of the dialogue boxes.)
When you are happy with your entry, click publish. See the top right-hand side of the screen for the “Publish” button.
In some cases, you will need to pay for the opportunity to use a feature. (If you are one of our clients and need help with such tasks as Adding Jobs, contact us direct.)
Now review your “Home” page and check that you like what you see. Keep working on the overview until you are happy with it.
Uploading Your Company’s Services
Now click on the “Products/Service” Tab. It is to the right of your “Home” Tab. (You may simply see the term Products for the moment.)
Once again, click on the word “Edit” to the right hand side of the page. You will then be offered the opportunity to write your overview. You will choose whether you are promoting products or services and the name of the tab will change accordingly. In the case of The Adams Consultancy Ltd, we are promoting services, so the term product does not appear on our entry.
Now is the time to start to make use of the visual features that will enhance your entry.
Upload up to three images to your page. Drive traffic back to your website by adding URLs where you want people to go when they click on your images. Add up to 3 images (646×222 pixels) and URLs below, and LinkedIn will create a rotating spotlight module to display on your page.
You can see one of the images that we have uploaded above. The image links to the relevant page on this website. Do not ignore this feature. It will help to build your brand and to get more people to visit your website.
On this page you can also make decisions about the order in which you wish your products or services to appear.
Spend some time getting this right. It is a fantastic showcase for your business.
Before leaving the services overview page, make sure you have uploaded the overview and completed tasks that LinkedIn prompts you to do. Look at all the boxes and think about how you can make the most of the features available.
Uploading Your LinkedIn Company Page – Products And Services
You are now ready to upload your individual services.
We will have written text for up to four services. You can add more, but the more you include, the more likely you are to lessen the impact of what you upload. People will not work through all of your products and services and they just might click away if they see a long list.
Upload your products and services by placing your mouse over the arrowhead to the right of the term “Edit”. You will see the term “Add a product or service”. Click on this term.
You will now be asked whether you are creating a product or service and to choose a category
The text we have written for you aims to encourage people to read about your product or service and then to take action. That is the text encourages people to visit your website or to get in touch now with your company. We will also have chosen key word terms to add to your entry. Upload these, too. If you choose to retype them, check your spelling.
There are eleven points to work through as you upload information about each of your products and services. Take the time to work through each point.
